Dr. Wood provides highly specialized care for all pediatric ophthalmic conditions and adult eye muscle problems. Her clinic emphasizes combining academic discipline and patient-oriented care. Each patient receives a focused and evidence-based evaluation and treatment plan. Dr. Wood handles nearly all optical, medical, and surgical conditions for pediatric eyes.
Dr. Wood was born in Charleston, South Carolina, and graduated from Clemson University in 2014 with a degree in microbiology with a biomedicine concentration. She went to medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina. Following an internship at Trident Medical Center, she completed a residency in ophthalmology at the Storm Eye Institute at the Medical University of South Carolina. She received sub-specialty training in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at the Storm Eye Institute. She is a member of the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the South Carolina Society of Ophthalmology, and the Charleston Ophthalmological Society.
Dr. Wood has been awarded Fellow of the Year by the Storm Eye Institute. She has published research articles and book chapters, and has presented at national conferences. Dr. Wood is passionate about global health and participates in international medical and surgical service.
