Ronald GW Teed was born in Mesa, Arizona, and graduated from the University of Arizona in 1999. His medical school training was at the prestigious University of Michigan. Following an internship at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, Michigan, he completed a residency in ophthalmology at Vanderbilt University, in Nashville, Tennessee. He received sub-speciality training in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus at the Medical University of South Carolina. He is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology, The American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Teed has been awarded Physician of the Month by the Medical University of South Carolina, and received an award for teaching excellence as an assistant professor at MUSC. He has published research articles and book chapters, and presented at national conferences.
